This is probably my favorite piece that has ever passed through my hands.  It was purchased at an estate sale of a Vet.  I spoke with his son at the sale and the story they were told is that their father landed at Normandy.  He didn't know if it was D-Day or on a follow-up but several days after he landed his group came upon a downed German bomber and he cut this off the uniform of one of the crew.  I still cannot look at it without thinking about impact that caused the clasp and EK1 to bend.

Very good Luftwaffe Ground Combat Badge.  Quite a bit of the original finish and paint remain.  The detail is somewhat worn but still extremely nice.  Hinge and clip are still in good working order.
