Cap is in good shape. Insignia appear to all have their original stitching. Looks like the Vet or an owner at some point printed their name on the band.

I'm always quite picky about not doing anything to pieces except some light cleaning. When I received this cap the insignia had been removed but it had some great fade lines where the original insignia had been. I went ahead and had the insignia professionally restored to the position of the original fade lines and it just looks great. It's difficult to see in photos but this cap has some terrific field use patina.

Absolutely beautiful rare hat. Besides being a very hard to find "Crusher", the piping is the even harder to find recon branch. It is the beautiful rust/copper brown color. The hat is also in great condition. There are a few very minor areas of wear. A superb centerpiece for a high end collection.

Every now and then you run into a piece that really yells out to you. This is one of those pieces for me. It is a great early visor with superb patina & wear. There are a few areas of damage or discoloration on the cloth but the overall presentation and look is great. I absolutely love the use patina on the underside of the visor bill. It is also named for an officer, Johannes Klaus, in the Minenwerferkompanie of the 21st Infantry Regiment (Bavarian).

Really nice piece in good shape. The band however has been replaced at some point. While it may be period, it is not part of the original construction of the cap.
