Maker- Friedrich Linden, Ludenscheid - FLL
COA From Mr. Thomas M. Durante:
Unmarked Luftwaffe Pilot badge, but commonly attributed to the Ludenscheid-based firm of Friedrich Linden. A relatively early example and an uncommon variant, with the wreath and eagle being made from Brass with a thick Silver plating. The badge is nicely worn, revealing the Brass base metal under the silver fmish. As is typical with this maker, the eagle is darkened with an artificial oxidation layer, while the wreath has a frosted silver finish. The reverse hardware setup is also typical, with a "lazy" block hinge lying on its side, and question-mark shaped catch. The large, brass rivets are un-messed with and classic "FLL"-attributed production. A nicely worn example by this maker. The described and pictured piece is an original example of this award. Size, weight and dimensions are correct to known examples. This documents a lifetime guarantee on the above details and is accurate based on the information available to date.
